Obituary of Stephen Davis

Of Mt. Morris, age 63, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Avalon Hospice. The memorial service will take place 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 4, 2013, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Chaplain Jim Salo will officiate. Steve's family will be present at the funeral home on Saturday to receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service at 2:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Stephen "Steve" was born July 15, 1949, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Delbert and Leona (Scherrer) Davis. Steve and Edith Mills were united in marriage August 22, 1969, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Steve graduated from Mt. Morris High School Class of 1968 and worked at General Motors for 28 years, retiring in 1997. Steve enjoyed spending time up north with his family, attending his grandchildren's athletic events, drawing, hunting, fishing, building and boating. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Edith; two children, Kimberley and husband, Todd Deacons, and Kirk Stephen Davis; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
