Of Copemish, formerly of Flint, age 70, died Thursday, May 23, 2013. The funeral service will take place 1:00 pm, Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris, burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park with graveside Military Honors conducted by the American Legion #158. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Tuesday, from 10:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Family Fund for medical expenses. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Dan was born May 13, 1943, in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was a decorated Vietnam Veteran who was extremely proud of his country. He and Velma "Jeri" Neeley were united in marriage December 9, 1977. He owned and operated Mid-Michigan Lock & Safe for over 30 years in the Flint and surrounding areas. He was a master locksmith who took pride in his trade. He was a lifelong member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion and the NRA. He was a great family man who enjoyed hunting, camping, and anything to do with the outdoors. Dan loved to spend time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends and people in the community. He was truly loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
