Obituary of Eleanor Alice Thompson

Of Flint, age 84, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Hurley Medical Center. The funeral service will take place, Saturday, June 15, 2013, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Dale Lewis will officiate with burial to follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm and on Saturday, from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Eleanor was born September 23, 1928 in Genesee, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur and Blanche (Chapel) DeWitt. She and Donald Thompson were united in marriage November 30, 1957. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and being by the water. Left to cherish her memory are seven children, Larry and wife, Joyce Sullivan, Sue Rose, Michael Sullivan, Randy and wife, Rebecca Thompson, Robin and husband, Bruce Hartfelder, Debra and husband, Lee Moliterno and James and wife, Tena Thompson; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; brother, Bob DeWitt; sister, Revena McLaughlin; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Thompson; daughter, Vicky Wellence; son-in-law, Dale Rose and several brothers and sisters.
