Obituary of Gun Edit Ohlsson

Of Mt. Morris, age 89, died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Maple Woods Manor. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Gun was born October 31, 1923 in Stockholm, Sweden the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo and Linnea (Karlsson) Tingstrom. She and Frans Ohlsson were united in marriage on July 31, 1948 in Sweden. She was a member of Salem Luthern Church for 50 years, and also a member of the VASA Order of America. She volunteered for the Old News Boys and did translation for the International Institute of Flint. When not busy volunteering she enjoyed sewing, reading, playing cards, and working in her vegetable and flower gardens. But most of all she was always ready to lend a helping hand with anything the family needed, especially when it came to her grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Birgitta and husband, Rodney Brown, Bjorn and wife, Joy Ohlsson, and Bengt Ohlsson; five grandchildren, Marianne, Linnea, Sara, Krysten, and Kassandra; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; and two great-great granchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and grandchild, Anita.
