Of Vassar, age 82, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, died peacefully Monday, May 29, 2006 at his home. James was born July 11, 1923 in Saginaw the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Linda Kane Meisel.\
\
He and Dolores Avery were united in marriage January 19, 1946. \
\
Before his retirement James had been employed at Saginaw Steering Gear as a machine operator with 37 years of service. \
\
He enjoyed farming, driving his Alis-Chalmers tractors and making everyone smile.\
\
Surviving are, his wife Dolores;\
\
2 sons, Tom and wife June Meisel\
\
Terry and wife Wanda Meisel;\
\
3 daughters, Cheri and husband Matthew Saeger,\
\
Mary Nordquist,\
\
Donna Meisel;\
\
12 grandchildren;\
\
19 great grandchildren;\
\
2 sisters, Dorothy Caulkins and Florence Fobear;\
\
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Irene Allington and brother Alfred Meisel.\
\
A Memorial Service was held 11:00 am Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at the Vassar First United Methodist Church with Pastor Steven Woodford officiating. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to Vassar First United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Martin Funeral Home, Clark Chapel-Vassar.\
