Obituary of Sally Lynn Ewing

Of Vassar, age 59, died Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Covenant Health Care- Cooper. The memorial service will take place, 11:00am Monday, July 8, 2013, at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar. Cremation has taken place and private burial will be held at Tuscola Township Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, from 9:30 am until time of service at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Sally was born May 24, 1954, in Saginaw, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Telford and Gertrude (Stoley) Proffer. She and William "Bill" Ewing were united in marriage on August 25, 1972. Sally enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, crafting and gardening. She was an active member and served in various board positions of the Millington Junior Women's Club and T.O.P.S. of Vassar. Left to cherish her memory are husband, William "Bill"; four daughters, Rebecca Drubin, Sara and husband, Bruce Skinner, Theresa and husband, Justin Buist, and Elizabeth and husband, Justin Pratt; nine grandchildren, Finnigan, Aurora, Blaise and Seeley Drubin, Timothy and Franklin Skinner, Eleanor and Harriet Buist and Elijah Pratt; brother, Ted and wife, Grace Proffer; sisters, Hilda Schantz, Esther Mae Thomas, and Ann Proffer; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patty Legue, Russ Ewing, Laura Wright, Connie Allen, Carol Szelogowski and Mavis Shearing; and many nieces, nephews and friends She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rachel; and brother, Jim Proffer.
