Of Clio, age 84, died Sunday, July 7, 2013, at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00am, Thursday, July 11, 2013, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Margaret's family will be present at the Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris on Tuesday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and Wednesday from 11:00am until 8:00pm. On Wednesday evening, familym friends and parish will gather for a Scripture Service at 6:00pm. On Thursday morning, Margaret will be take to church to lie in state from 10:00am until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Emmanuel Prayer Group or to St. Luke's NEW Life Center in Flint. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Margaret was born April 13, 1929, in Rhinelander, Wisconsin the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Herskorn and Ruth (Patterson). She received her R.N. diploma from St. Mary School of Nursing in Madison, Wisconsin and graduated from University of Detroit in 1982. Following a move to the Flint area in 1964, she was employed at Hurley Medical Center for 24 years, retiring in 1988. She was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris, Emmanuel Prayer Group, St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Luke's NEW Life Center in Flint and Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.
Left to cherish her memory are four children: Joseph (Mary) of Davison, John of Swartz Creek, Daniel (Carolyn) of Olivet and Lorena (Keith) Skiba of St. Johns, five grandchildren: Danny, Joey, Jennifer, Brandon and Matthew, several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, one brother, Robert Herskorn and one sister, Lois Alsteen.
