Age 77, of Vassar, died Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at his home. John was born February 18, 1929 in Watertown Township the son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. and Lulu (Donigan) Meacham. John graduated from Mayville High School and was a life long resident of Watertown Township.\
He and Julia Anthony were united in marriage August 2, 1997. He served as Watertown Township Supervisor for 34 years before his retirement. John was a member of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church and was a Charter Member of Vassar Knights of Columbus. John enjoyed farming and gardening and served on the Soil Conservation Board. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Surviving are wife Julie Meacham of Millington; Children; Susan and husband Wilbert Ill, Jean and husband Jim Kennison, John and wife Connie Meacham, Dan and wife Dawn Meacham, Chris and wife Amy Anthony, Grandchildren; Christa and husband Tim Scheneman, Todd and wife Amanda Sergent, Emily and husband Kris Kreh, Kim and husband Matt Hall, Jennifer Meacham, Sarah Meacham, Aimee Bamberg, Anthony Bamberg, Colin Meacham, Jenna Meacham, Rusty and wife Sherry Ill, Jim and wife Emily Ill, Great grandchildren; Harley Sergent, Rachel Ill, Ryan Ill, Colton Kreh, Brady Kreh, Kaylee Scheneman; Sister, Ellen and husband Wilmer Beckrow. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Louise (Bertrand) Meacham. Mass of the Christian Burial be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, July 1, 2006 at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church in Vassar with Rev. Fr. John Ederer officiating. Rite of Committal will be at Watertown Cemetery. Family will be present to receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar 4-9pm Friday. Saturday morning family and friends will gather at the funeral home at 9am for visitation with prayers at 12:40pm and then proceed to church for funeral services at 1:00pm. There will be a Knights of Columbus Memorial Service Friday. Those desiring, may consider memorial contributions to St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church in Vassar. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and at church. \
