Obituary of Fred Horner

Of Akron Township, age 65, died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at his home. Cremation has taken place. The memorial service will take place 1:00pm, Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the Martin Funeral Home in Fairgrove. Pastor David Burkett will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Family Fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Fred was born May 13, 1944 in Flint, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick and Beatrice (Sampson) Horner. He and Ann Atkinson were united in marriage on August 20, 1970. Fred worked for the City of Akron as the Chief of Police for fourteen years. He then donated his time as a Volunteer Fireman for ten years until he became a truck driver; he drove for fourteen years. Fred leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 39 years, Ann; children, Dawn and husband, Charles Donelow, Cheryl Horner, Patrick Horner; grandchildren, Zachary, Kacie, Samantha; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Kevin Horner.
