of Evart formerly of Mt. Morris, age 105 died at his home Monday July 31, 2006. Funeral services will be 10:00am Friday from Mt. Morris St. Mary Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Stimac will remain at the Miles Martin Funeral Home where friends may call Wednesday from 5-9pm and all day Thursday. Family and parish will gather at the funeral home to pray the Rosary 6pm Thursday. The Mt. Morris Holy Family Council #4285 will gather at the funeral home Thursday for KofC memorial at 7pm. Friday morning Mr. Stimac wil be taken to church to lie in state from 9am until time of funeral Mass at 10am.\ \ Born April 24, 1901 in Pozeda Yugoslavia the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Mary (Drazic) Stimac. He and Nina Dalmatin were united in marriage at Mt. Morris St. Mary Catholic Church August 15, 1936. He and Nina have lived in Evart the past 32 years where they belonged to Evart Sacred Heart Catholic Church. George worked for Chevrolet for 41.7 years retiring in 1966 as a setup man. George was one of the Sit-Down-Strikers. He was a member of UAW Local 659, a member of Mt. Morris Holy Family Council Knights of Columbus, and the SNPJ for over 50 years.\ \ Left to cherish his memory are his wife of nearly 70 years Nina.\ \ 3 children: Mary Ann and husband Andrew Krutka of Swartz Creek;\ George R. and wife Rose Stimac of Saginaw;\ Robert and wife Nancy Stimac of Flushing.\ \ 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren\ \ Many nieces nephews and friends.\ \ George was preceded in death by his grandson, Andrew John, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters.\ \ Friends may share a memory with his family at the funeral home, church or online at www.martinfuneralhome.com- - - - - - -\
