Age 69, died Sunday, August 13, 2006, at her home in Vassar. Edith was born October 18, 1936, in Rogersville, Tennessee, the daughter of Earl and Cora (Courtney) Adkins.\

Surviving her is a daughter, Kathy Teschendorf, two brothers, Willie Adkins and Junior Adkins of Ohio. Also surviving are four sisters, Dorothy Barger, Ohio, Alice Furnifh, Texas, Linda Thompson, Florida, and Mary Woodside, Kentucky. Grandchildren surviving are Michael and Stormi St. John of Georgia, Scott and Betheen Teschendorf of Millington, Cynthia and Scott Briggs of Bay City, and Andrea Clasby of Vassar.\
Preceding Edith in death were her parents, her husband, two sons, and two brothers, 1 sister.\

A memorial service will be held 7:00pm, Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at Martin Funeral Home in Vassar. Rev. John Becker will officiate. Edithas family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00pm until the time of service at 7:00pm. Those desiring, may consider memorial contributions to Cancer Society or Covenant Hospice.
