Obituary of Mabel L. Pinney

Age 79, of Mt. Morris, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, August 19, 2006. Her funeral service will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at the First Baptist Church of Mt. Morris. Pastor Tim Evans will officiate with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. Mabelas family will be present at the Miles Martin Funeral Home to receive friends on Monday from 3:30pm to 8:00pm and Tuesday from 9:00am to 12:00 noon and again from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. On Wednesday morning, Mabel will be taken to the church to lie in state from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the First Baptist Church of Mt. Morris or the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. \ \ Mabel was born October 8, 1926 in Flint the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John W. and Adelaide (Shenkel) Wager. She and Willard Pinney were united in marriage May 19, 1944 in Ohio. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Morris where she was involved with the Junior Church and the Youth Group. For many years she volunteered as a story teller dressing up as Mrs. Claus, Mother Goose and others telling tales of Michigan History and nursery rhymes. \ \ Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Willard, two sons, Lt. Col. US Army Jack C. Pinney, Vaughn Pinney, three daughters, Sara Novak, Valerie and husband William Carah, Dawn and husband Arthur Murphy, daughter-in-law, Judith Kay Pinney, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends. \ \ Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
