I have known Chuck Townsend Jr. over some 45 years and though the greater part of my being around him was during the 1960's he was then as now a very true friend. He was my Pathfinder Leader at the Ann Arbor Seventh-day Adventist Church. It was him that taught me how to march which I later greatly appreciated during my military experience in the army. It was him that made camping become a very fun thing to do for me. I still enjoy it to this day. It was him that instilled in me a love for the automobile and mechanical things. Today I have a masters degree in engineering technology and he is a major childhood influence that caused me to direct my life in this direction. To him I owe my deepest respects and consequently I wish only the best for those he has left behind who are all my very best of friends.\ With Love and Compassion,\ Charlie Beck

Hi Mom. It's been awhile since I've seen you guys, but I still think of you often (every time I see those bricks in the back of my truck) which are still there. Chuck always had a story to tell. Usually about fast cars. I remember him always wanting to tinker with things. Always offering a hand with the tent stuff. I remember how he always wanted to show us everything if we stopped by in St Helen for a quick visit or if we stopped in to stay for the weekend.
