Obituary of Harry J. Shepherd

SHEPHERD, HARRY "JACKa\ \ Of Vassar, age 75 died Thursday, September 21, 2006 at Covenant Health Care-Cooper in Saginaw. Harry was born February 19, 1931 in Flint, the son of Harry J. and Ellen(Walton ) Shepherd.\ Harry and Carol (Brown) were united in marriage October 12, 1952 in Detroit. Harry was a member of Tuscola Community Church, worked for General Motors for 32 years, and served in the Army for 2 years during the Korean War. His hobbies include restoring old cars and watching NASCAR on TV.\ Surviving are wife Carol, 5 children Pastor Greg and Laura Shepherd , Donald Shepherd, Barbara and Dale Driver, Clyde and Kimberly Shepherd, Calista and Kurt Hecht, 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 brothers Robert and Charles (Tom) Shepherd, 2 sisters Lois Long and Margie Haneline. \ He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Shirley. \ Harryas funeral service will take place 11:00am, Saturday, September 23, 2006 at the Tuscola Community Church in Tuscola. Pastor Greg Shepherd will officiate with burial in Tuscola Township Cemetery. Family will be present to receive friends on Friday from 3:30pm to 9:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Tuscola Community Church or charity of donoras choice in honor of Mr. Shepherd. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and at church.\
