LEE, M. LaVaughn Of Genesee, age 76, went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 22, 2006, at the Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich. LaVaughnas family will be present to receive friends Saturday from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Sunday from 12:00 noon to 8:00pm and Monday from 11:00am until the time of service at 12:00 noon. On Sunday afternoon at 5:00pm, family and friends will gather at the funeral home for a Masonic Service conducted under the auspices of the Welfare Masonic Lodge #517 F & AM. The Funeral Service will take place 12:00 noon, Monday, September 25, 2006 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home with burial following in Flint Memorial Park. LaVaughn was born July 31, 1930 in Arkansas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Harvey and Gertye (Rainwater) Lee. As a young man he moved to the Flint area. He owned and operated the Lee Insurance Agency in Genesee from 1979 to the present. In 1951, LaVaughn married the mother of his children, Nina Woods and was married for 25 years. On December 2, 1996 he married his present wife, Joan (Princing) Glynn. LaVaughn had been a member of several local churches as well as the Genesee Lions Club, the Welfare Masonic Lodge #517, and the Gideons. He was also a past Pack Master with the Cub Scouts Pack #181 and was a youth baseball coach. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, traveling, taking pictures and his vegetable garden. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joan Lee, children, Diana and husband Douglas Latter, Kerry and husband Mark Eastman, Rhonda and husband Jeffrey Spooner and Harvey and wife Deborah Lee, 9 grandchildren, Rachel and husband Steve Pake, Chanel and husband Mike Sheofsky, Cy and wife Holly Clouthier, Samantha Spooner, Sarah Latter, Max Eastman, Casey Spooner, Jacob Lee and Abigail Lee, 5 great-grandchildren, Caden, Charla, Zoe, Rebekah, Eli Jeffrey, 2 step-children, Camille (Glynn) and husband Carlos Martell, Derrick Glynn, 4 step-grandchildren, Bryan, Kevin, Jordan and Matthew, brothers, and sisters, Jean and husband Pat Williams, Jacquie and husband Jack Blakemore, Montene Hewitt and late husband, Victor, James and wife Rosemary Lee, Duane and wife Sandy Lee, Joe and wife Betty Lee, Kathy Dunscombe, special friends, Nina and husband Richard L. Page, his dogs, Blue and Pepper, and many nieces, nephews and close friends. He will be missed more than words can express.
