Obituary of Gary Lee Van Belois

Of Mt. Morris, age 74, died Monday, July 22, 2013, at his home. Gary's family will be present to receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris on Thursday, July 25, 2013, from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm. With cremation to follow. Burial of his cremated remains will be scheduled at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Those desiring may consider memorial contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Gary was born February 12, 1939, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald and Noretha (Jennings) Van Belois. Gary proudly served in the United States Navy stationed on the USS Lake Champlain before receiving his honorable discharge on January 7, 1960, at Quonset Point, Rhode Island. He and Pat Galea were united in marriage October 21, 1978. Gary enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching TV, fixing cars, snow plowing and breeding Siamese Cats. Left to cherish his memory, wife Pat; 3 children, Scott (Beth) Van Belois, Sandra Noffsinger and Laura Macielog; many grandchildren; sister Karen (Fred) Green; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, beloved German Sheppard Nikita.
