Of Vassar, age 68, died Monday, December 10, 2007 at St. Mary Hospital. The funeral service will take place 2:00 pm Friday December 14, 2007 at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar. Family will receive friends from 10:00am until time of service at 2:00pm Friday. Pastor David Sommers will officiate with burial to follow in Tuscola Township Cemetery. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to a family fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.\

Burton was born October 29, 1939 in Vassar the son of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin and Gladys (Dye) Putman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.\

He is survived by girlfriend of 33 years, Evelyn, 5 children; Burton Putman Jr., Angela Edwards, Tammy Putman, Laura (Putman), Brandy Putman, 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren 4 stepchildren; Robert, Gordon, Tina, James and brother Walter.\

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.\
