I feel so fortunate to have known Gary. Gary represented integrity and honor and honesty, and he was an officer and a gentleman. He will be fondly remembered. Condolences to the family.

I was a classmate of Gary's and, like so many others, think Gary was one of the nicest persons I have ever met. The last time I saw Gary was at the 2006 reunion and I sat next to him and we caught up on each other's lives and talked about so many topics. He was such a bright, humorous, kind man and will be missed by so many of us. I think of him now as our own guardian angel helping the rest of us to learn the lessons we were put here to learn. Gary will always be in our hearts.

Dear Slattery family,\ \ How hard it must be to loose one of your family during the Christmas season. I am so sorry for your loss. I haven't been able to get Gary off my mind since Cheryl called me last night. Seems like death just should not happen at such a young age as ours. \ \ Gary is one of my favorite high school buddies. When I think of any school activities there is Gary's presence. It was because of him we had so many laughs and so much fun. We could always count on Gary with his dry sweet humor to make us all glad to be in his presence. \ \ I am not able to come to the memorial services because I am dealing with some health challenges of my own but I want you to know I will be there in spirit. I will always remember Gary and thank God that I had the opportunity to get to know him. He is a very special man. My prayers and thoughts are with you. Keep shining, \ Sherry Hannon
