Obituary of Gerard Malia

Age 77, died at his Mt. Morris home. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00pm until the time of the funeral at 4:00pm at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Interment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. In Jerry's memory, Masses may be offered at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mt. Morris or donations to the American Lung Association would be appreciated. \ \ Jerry was born in Chicago, the son of Gerard and Beatrice (Robinson) Malia and moved to Mt. Morris in 1946 graduating from St. Mary's High School in 1948. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Jerry retired from General Motors as a staff assistant in August 1987 after 35 years of employment. He was an organizer and photography exhibitor at the Genesee County Fair for 25 years. \ \ Jerry is survived by his wife, D. Marlene Bourgeois of Mt. Morris; 4 daughters, Kim (John) Bishop of Millington, Michele (Fred) Walsh of Roscommon, Sharon (John) McAndrew of Fenton and Kathy Converse of Minnesota; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; mother, Beatrice Malia of Flushing; sister, Mary (George) Corcoran of Clio. His father, Gerard, preceded him in death.
