Obituary of Leslie W. Vaughn

Of Montrose, age 77, died January 26, 2008 at his residence with his loving family by his side. The funeral service will take place at 1:00pm, January 30, 2008 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Mr. Curtis Watson and Mr. Jim Watson will officiate with entombment to follow in Flint Memorial Park. LeslieAaas family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 28 from 5:00pm Aa" 8:00pm, Tuesday from 10:00am Aa" 12:00pm and 4:00pm Aa" 8:00pm and again on Wednesday from 12:00pm until the time of service at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Genesys Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. LeslieAaas family wishes to express great thanks to Dan Ogden from Genesys Hospice for all the compassionate care shown toward Leslie and the entire family. Leslie was born February 8, 1930 in Cardwell, Missouri to Mr. and Mrs. Leslie and Cleo (Fortner) Vaughn. He and Freda (Rolland) were united in marriage on October 21, 1950 in Monette, Arkansas. Together they shared over 57 years of marriage. Leslie worked for General Motors, retiring after 28 years of service from GMAaas Saginaw Foundry. Mr. Vaughn was a member of the Flushing Pointe Church of Christ. He had also been the shop chairman in the early 1960Aaas for UAW Local 326 and was a very active in the union. He enjoyed golfing, playing music on his guitar, spending time in Florida, fishing on the Gulf of Mexico and gardening. Left to cherish his memory are his wife; Freda, mother; Cleo Heath, children; Leslie Jr. (Trish), Linda (Gary) Beadle, Michael (Peggy), Randall (Patsy), Sharon (Paul) Fogelsonger and Janice (Edward) Courtney and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his two sisters; Rosalie (Marvin) McFarlin and Dorris (John) Taylor and many nieces and nephews. Leslie was preceded in death by his father.
