Obituary of Alice Mae Middleton

Age 92 died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Bay Medical Care Facility. Alice M. Perry was born July 31, 1915 to the late Almon F. and Blanche Rowland Perry. She married Ivan M. Middleton on December 7, 1941. He predeceased her April 18, 1974. Alice was a member of St. LukeAaas Lutheran Church in Vassar and was the church organist for 55 years. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid, and helped organize a kitchen band, AaA"The Musical MamasAaA that entertained groups throughout the area. For over thirty years, Alice and her husband owned the AaA"Vassar ConfectionaryAaA which was a center of activity for young patrons and fellow business members. Surviving are one son Perry(Bonnie) Middleton of Essexville, Michigan, a daughter-in-law, Linda Middleton of Vassar, Five grandchildren, Justin and Matthew Middleton, Jodey(Greg) Hecht, Christine Clemens, and Larry Ivan Middleton, eight great grandchildren, Jessica, Kelsey, Evan, Michael, Brandon, Emily, Karalyn and Tyler and many nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by one son, Larry H. Middleton, three brothers and one sister. The family wishes to extend our deepest appreciation to the staff of One East of the Bay Medical Care Facility for the care and compassion extended our mother and grandmother over the last several years. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30 at St. LukeAaas Lutheran Church at 916 Huron Avenue in Vassar. Pastor James Naumann will officiate with burial at Riverside Cemetery in Vassar. Friends and family may call at the Martin Funeral Home, in Vassar on Tuesday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. and at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to St. LukeAaas Lutheran Church, the AlzheimerAaas Foundation or the donorAaas favorite charity.
