Age 78, of Mt. Morris, died Thursday, February 25, 2021, at his home. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Clio. Pastor Darrel Manning to officiate with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of service at church. Charles was born on November 19, 1942, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ceburn and Stella (Goodman) Watts. In 1964, he moved to Michigan with his family then went to work for General Motors. As a young man, still in his teens, he met, fell in love with, and was united in marriage to Sharon Lary on February 27,1966, in Flint. She was the love of his life. He went to work at a railroad company for a short time before starting his career at GM serving there until his retirement in 1981. An outdoorsman at heart, Charles loved to go hunting in Grayling, often hunting deer, bear, elk, and boar and he traveled to Canada to fish. Other travels included trips to Arkansas to visit his family, many trips down south, or even just traveling around to drive through various car lots looking at heavy-duty trucks and sports cars. Charles also loved playing cards. He will be truly missed.
Charles leaves to cherish his memory three sons: Charles and partner, Trace Derosia Watts, Jr., Louis and wife, Rita Watts, Aric Watts and husband, Robert; two grandchildren: Kayela, and Miranda Derosiaone; sister: Betty Rudd; two sisters-in-law: Wanda Lewis and Carol Watts; brother-in-law: Gordon and wife, Jan Nichols; stepsister: Angie Wheeler and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife Sharon; parents; stepmother: Rhoda "Mary" Watts; brother: Jay Watts; sister: Carolyn Kurtiak and two stepsisters: Teresia Wheeler and Connie Sue Biofor.
