Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Rene Paul Earl La Freniere, age 85, entered into rest on March 7, 2008 at Genesys. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with the Rite of Committal to follow in Calvary Cemetery. ReneAaas family will be present to receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris on Monday from 7:00pm until 8:30pm, Tuesday from 10:00am until 8:30pm and Wednesday from 9:00am until 10:00am, prior to Rene being taken to church for Funeral Mass at 11:00am. On Tuesday, a Scriptural Rosary will be prayed at 4:00pm. There will be no visitation at the church on Wednesday. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the City of Mary. Envelopes are available at the funeral home
Rene was born August 25, 1922 in Hafford, Saskatchewan, the son of Alfred and Marie AaA"DelinaAaA (Pepin) LaFreniere. Rene was also a decorated World War II Veteran.
Surviving are his second wife, the former Lillian Lahman Studney; children, Rene (Beth) La Freniere, Stephanie (Dr. Jeffry) Hagenstein, Joel (Lynne) La Freniere, Mary (Tom) Severn, James (Carol) La Freniere, John La Freniere and Matthew (Tammy) La Freniere; LillianAaas children, Rick Studney, Shannon (Evangeline) Studney and Gail (Billy) Hines; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Rene Paul III, Joel II, Emily, Anna, Matthew, David, Stephen, Rodney, MeChelle, Jesse, Elizabeth, Dawn, Nicole, Matthew II, Christopher and Alyson; and 13 great grandchildren.
Rene was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Eileen Dawn Burbank, brothers, Joseph, Clarence and Clement; four sisters, Maie, Lillian, Eva and Olive; and one great grandchild, Ammie Lynn.
