Of Caro, age 78, died March 24, 2008 at his residence. J.R. was born January 9, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley and Edna (Wrtzke) Ayres. J.R. served his country proudly during the Korean Conflict from 1946-1953. He retired from GM-Buick as a tool and dye maker in 1988 with 34 years of service and was an active member of UAW Local 599.
J.R. was survived by his stepchildren Carol Boucher, Quinton Bellanger and wife Twyla, Stuart Bellanger and wife Janice and Curtis Bellanger and wife Cheryl, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, his first wife Lillian Isabel (Thompson) Ayres, second wife Melba Verlean (Mackey) Ayres, one brother Claude Ayres and his stepchild Faye Wagner.
The funeral service will take place Friday March 28, 2008 at 12:30 pm at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar, with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. AyresAaas family will be present to greet friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar on Friday from 10:00 am until time of service. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Marlette Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
