Of Clio, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 26, 2008. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at Colonial Hills Baptist Church. Pastor Doug Klein will officiate with burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park with full military honors to be accorded by the American Legion Post #158 of Clio. BillAaas family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm and on Tuesday from 10:00am until 8:00pm. On Tuesday evening, the Vienna Masonic Lodge #205 will conduct a memorial service at 7:00pm. On Wednesday, Bill will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Those desiring, may direct memorial contributions to the DeaconAaas Fund at Colonial Hills Baptist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Bill was born April 4, 1927 in Rexton, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. and Jennie G. (King) McCullough. He and Nellie Mae Smith were united in marriage May 11, 1957 at North Baptist Church in Flint, she preceded him in death in 2005. Bill was owner and operator of Clio Excavating throughout his lifetime, was a butcher at HamadyAaas and was also a millwright for GM Metal Fab.
Left to cherish his memory are his children; William McCullough, Jr. and friend Linda Mathis, Debbie and Terry Bloodworth, and Denise and Rodney Fritz, two granddaughters; Katie and Sidney, sister, Leona Foy of Clarksville. He was loved by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his loving wife, Nellie, he was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Ruth and three brothers; John, Robert and Dale.
