Dorothy Evelyn Christenson
Age 91, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will take place 11:00am, Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. EvelynAaas family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 noon to 3:00pm and 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Morris. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Evelyn was born March 13, 1917 in Gladwin, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George and Emily (Seltz) Greaves. She and Roy W. Christenson were united in marriage July 19, 1941 at her familyAaas home in Genesee. He preceded her in death in 1978. Evelyn worked at Citizens Bank in Mt. Morris for over 25 years starting there as a substitute teller and retiring as the branch manager. She was also a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Morris. Left to cherish her memory are her sons; Jerry and wife Barbara Christenson of San Antonio, Texas, Ron and wife Mackie Christenson of Bedhampton Hill, England, Jim Christenson of Atlanta, Georgia, five grandchildren; Greg and Chastity Rodgers of College Station, Texas, Stephen Scot Christenson and fiance Suree Klangnok of Alexandria, Virginia, Martin Alexander Christenson of Alexandria, Virginia, Tamara and husband Steve Hovey of Lapeer, Rachel and husband Dale Buxton of Howell, seven great-grandchildren; Ashlee, Kodi and Rylee Hovey, Felicia, Danielle, Dale, Jr. and Jerrah Barbara Buxton,
numerous nephews, nieces and friends. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy, and two sisters; Vivian Asaro and Ruth McLean. Friends may share a memory with the family at the funeral home, church or online at www.martinfuneralhome.com.
