Obituary of Vera A. Ackerman

Of Mt. Morris, age 83, died Monday, June 2, 2008 at MediLodge of Montrose. The funeral service will take place at 1:00pm, Friday, June 6, 2008 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor Keith Childerhose will officiate with burial to follow in Mt. Morris Cemetery. VeraAaas family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Friday from 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm. Those desiring, may direct memorial contributions to MediLodge of Montrose, the American Cancer Society or Avalon Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Vera was born January 14, 1925 in Whittemore, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Nettie (Drew) Webster. During World War II, Vera worked as a AaA"Rosie the RiveterAaA at the Grand Blanc Tank Plant. In the year 1946, Vera was united in marriage to Harry Ackerman. Left to cherish Vera's memory are her children; Connie (Devere) Spencer, Catherine Firman, Robert William (Sheila) Ackerman, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Ella (Gene) Goss, Cecilia (Allen) Atherton, Amelia Drake and Joyce (Richard) Scully and brother, Dwain (Arlene) Webster. Vera is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Vera was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harry; grandson, Russel Ackerman; brothers, Infant Frankie and Charles and sisters, Eva (Lee) Hibbard and Illa (Gene) Bentley.
