Of Flint, age 85, passed away peacefully on the evening of Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich. The memorial service will take place 7:00pm, Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. LawrenceAaas family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00pm until the time of service at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be used for research for heart, cancer and AlzheimerAaas diseases.
Lawrence was born June 25, 1922 in Mt. Morris, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell and Elsie Johanna (Peterson) Carley. He and Lucille Hynes were united in marriage on February 4, 1946 in Mt. Morris. Though not a carpenter by trade, Lawrence was quite proficient in the skill and built two homes by himself. He was also a cat lover and enjoyed watching wildlife come to life during early morning walks.
Lawrence is survived by his son, Larry R. Carley of Burton; brother, Wilford R. and wife Corine Carley of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lucille; sisters, Lois May Sibley and Elizabeth J. Hyde.
