Obituary of Homer E Smith

SMITH, Homer E. of Mt. Morris age 83, died Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Brians House Hospice. The funeral service will take place 4:00pm, Sunday, June 29, 2008 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor Bob Burkey will officiate. Private burial in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Saturday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm and Sunday from 3:00pm until time of service at 4:00pm. Memorial donations may be considered to the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Morris. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Homer was born February 5, 1925 in Flint, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry and Della (Auker) Smith. He and Virginia M. Collins were united in marriage on June 6, 1946. She preceded him in death in April 1999. Homer worked at AC Spark Plug for 30 years, retiring in 1978. Homer leaves to cherish his memory his brother Robert and his wife Marian Smith, two sisters in law Mildred and her husband Elmer Mathe, and Ruth and her husband Cletus Hawtin, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Virginia, and sister Wanda.
