Obituary of Raymond D Bates
Of Clio, age 84, died Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at home. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at the Miles Martin Funeral Home on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 12:00 noon. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 6, 2008, from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 noon. Memorial donations may be considered to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Raymond was born October 11, 1923 in Flint, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry and Bertha (Coulter) Bates. He and his wife Maxine were together for 50 years, she preceded him in death on July 15, 1999. He spent his career teaching, in various school districts.
Ray leave to cherish his memory his sister Dorothy Grable, niece and special friend Patricia Lewis, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Maxine, brothers: Bill, Lee, Robert, and Harry, and sisters: Marion, DeEtta, and three infant siblings.
