Of Mt. Morris, age 79, died Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at his residence. The funeral service will take place 11:00am, Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the Richfield Church of the Nazarene in Otisville. Rev. Clarence Moorhouse will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. BillAaas family will be present to receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris on Friday from 11:00am until 3:00pm and 5:00pm until 8:00pm. On Saturday morning, Bill will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association or the Visiting Nurses of Michigan. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
Bill was born April 21, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio the son of Edward and Ruthie (Davis) Miller. Bill worked as a Job Setter for 33 years at AC Spark Plug (now Delphi), where he met his wife, Virginia Reis. They were united in marriage on February 22, 1961 in Flint. Bill enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, as well as the Detroit Lions.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Cathleen L. Miller, PhD, CPA of Mt. Morris and Debra (Timothy) Nelson of Seattle, Washington; grandchildren, Sean M. Nelson, age 12 and Lisa C. Nelson, age 10, both of Seattle, Washington and siblings, Helen Randolph of Port Huron, Richard (Sharon) Miller of Yale, Caroline (Frank) Wahla of Ypsilanti and Gerri Crawford of Port Huron; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ruth (Cecil) Inman of Chicago, Illinois, Ernestine Ackley of Clio and Emma (Bill) Sageman of Freeland; twenty three nieces and nephews; and several cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Virginia; baby daughter, Elizabeth Ruth Miller; brother, Floyd Miller; sister, Edna Arnold; brothers-in-law, Bernard Arnold, Jim Randolph, Jim Crawford and Roy Ackley and sister-in-law, Betty Reis.
