Obituary of Dorothy Angeline Brock

Of Mt. Morris, age 88, died Thursday, July 12, 2012. The funeral service will take place 1:00pm, Thursday, July 19, 2012, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Pastor Darrel Manning will officiate with burial to follow in Thetford Township Cemetery. Dorothy's family will be present at the funeral home on Wednesday to receive friends from 11:00am until 8:00pm, on Thursday from 10:00am until time of service at 1:00pm. Dorothy was born August 27, 1923, in Pine Knot, Kentucky, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie and Lucy (Hicks) Vanover. She and George Brock were united in marriage July 28, 1947. Dorothy worked at Ternstedt for many years before retiring in 1973. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, avid bowler, a member of the Clio Horseshoe as well as Auto City Eagles, she loved listening to Elvis music and going on Casino trips. Left to cherish her memory husband, George; three children, Wanda Lewis, Brenda Manore and Barbara (Daniel) Treat; 11 grandchildren, Robin (James) Banner, Linda (Darwin) Hetzer, Tonia (Mel) Lomax, Tamara (Blas) Martinez, Robert (LaDonna) Manore, Terry, Brian, Joseph and Shaun Manore, Amanda and Melissa Treat; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Leonard (Opha) Vanover and Earnest (Vernia) Vanover; sister, Violet Dale Melton. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Millie Jean, Betty and Mildred, brother, Edgar son-in-law, William Lewis.
