Obituary of Walter Larson

Of Flint, age 82, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Genesys Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 11:00 am, Friday, August 3, 2012, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Rev. Carl Cooke will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, August 2, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the National Kidney Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Walter was born May 20, 1930, in Flint, Michigan, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter and Edith (Ainsworth) Larson, Sr. He and Grace York were united in marriage March 21, 1952, in Asbury Methodist Church in Flint, Michigan. Walter owned Welch Blvd Hardware for many years. He enjoyed traveling, talk radio, music, and a good cigar. He will be greatly missed. Walter leaves to cherish his memory, wife of 60 years, Grace; three children, Jennie and husband, Steve Martinus, W. Stanley Larson, and Pamela Taylor-Herjert; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
