Obituary of Robert Earl Palmer

Of Flint, age 81, died Monday, August 6, 2012, at Genesys Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will take place 4:00 pm, Saturday, August 11, 2012, at the Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services in Mt. Morris. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm and on Saturday, from 12:00 noon until time of service at 4:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Family Fund. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Robert was born February 24, 1931, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd and Jenette (Parsons) Palmer, Sr. He and Donna McMurphy were united in marriage February 17, 1950. Bob worked 30.5 years at Inland Fisher Guide, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the UAW Local 326. He enjoyed sitting down at the coffee shop with the guys, spending time with his family and watching John Wayne movies. He was a long-time member of the Odd Fellows in Lapeer. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Donna; four children, Denise Olds, Lonn Palmer, Jeff and wife, Christy Palmer, and Cary Palmer; eight grandchildren, Brent and wife, Heather Stoltenberg, Chad and wife, Nikki Stoltenberg, Bianca, Brandon, Bryston, and Anthony Palmer, Michael and Michelle Goff; six great-grandchildren, Cody, Samantha, Tyler, Noah, Emma, and Marley; sister-in-law, Marilyn Palmer; and nephew, Craig and wife, Madeline Palmer. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother; young sister; and brother, Floyd.
