Obituary of Kerry James Decker

Of Mt. Morris, age 59, died Sunday, September 23, 2012, at home. The funeral service will take place 12:00 Noon, Thursday, September 27, 2012, at the St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau will officiate with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Kerry's family will be present at St. Mary Catholic Church to receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 am until time of Mass at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the family fund. Envelopes are available at the church. Kerry was born January 25, 1953, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl and Theresa (Smith) Decker. Kerry graduated from St. Mary Catholic School Class of 1972. He owned and operated P&K Painting for over 30 years. In his free time Kerry enjoyed spending time with family and friends, he was an avid fisherman and hunter, collecting coins and antiques, going to concerts with his friends and loved gardening. Left to cherish his memory, daughter, Janine Decker and boyfriend, Jody Kus; girlfriend of 11 years, Liz Skinner; granddaughter, Sadie Kus; 9 siblings: Alan and wife, Sandy Decker, Sheeran Call, Janice and husband, Bob Potts, Terry Decker, Diane Martinez, Tammy Decker-Ballant, Carl Decker, Cindy Decker-Blower and boyfriend, Paul Cook and Lauri Decker; long time friends, Jean Takacs, Charlie and wife, Vicki Lasley, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends. Kerry was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Linda.
